We are a mixed-billing practice. We bulk bill children 16 years and under, DVA patients, all patients of ATSI origin, over 75+ health assessments and chronic disease management plans and reviews. Pensioners and concession card holders are billed at a reduced rate.
Fees are payable at the time of consultation. We accept cash, cheque, MasterCard, Visa or Eftpos. We are able to process your Medicare rebate on the same day and your rebate will then be automatically deposited into your chosen bank account within 1-2 working days.

Walker Street General Practice operates on an appointment system. You can either book online or call reception on 4861 3855. Please note that online bookings can only be used for existing patients of the Practice. All bookings made online are for standard consultations only (10-20minutes). If you require a longer appointment, please call us on 4861 3855.
Short Consultations (Level A) – 5 to 10 minutes for obvious and straightforward cases. E.g. Script, Referral, Medical Certificate
Standard Consultations (Level B) – 10 to 20 minutes for one or more health related issues.
Long Consultations (Level C) – 20 minutes or more. You may require more time for mental health consultations, health assessments, work cover, multiple health issues and for procedures etc.
Please call reception on 4861 3855 so that we can ensure we allocate enough time to meet your needs. If in doubt, please ask.
If you are unable to attend your appointment, please notify us in advance – preferably 24hrs. Failure to attend appointments is noted and may result in non-attendance fees being charged.
It is your responsibility to contact the Practice to obtain your test results. Please call the practice after 2pm Monday to Friday. Most test results are available within 2 to 3 days. If your test results are abnormal, you will be contacted by your doctor. If an appointment is required, you will be called to arrange a date. If you have been unable to arrange a test or consultation as per your doctor’s request, please call reception on 4861 3855.
Your doctor may arrange a referral for you to have further tests and/or consultations. Please make arrangements with the appropriate provider as soon as possible.

Notifying you of test results and upcoming recalls are an important part of our commitment to your overall health.
Patients may now receive SMS reminders from us for upcoming appointments, reviews, assessments, or test results.

We will not divulge sensitive information, only whether you need to be seen.
You may opt out of this service by replying Stop. This will stop ALL appointment reminders, recalls and results, and we will instead send letters and/or call you on the telephone. In this instance test results will only be notified by telephone if you are required to see your Doctor.

Our GPs work with other local GPs to provide after-hours medical care all year round with the Southern Highlands General Practitioner After Hours Service (SHGPAHS). The clinic is located at 21 Jude St, Bowral (opposite Bowral Hospital).
