Dr Ono Alex-Ohunyon

Having lived in Germany, South Africa, Nigeria and Australia, Dr Ono has varied experiences in different health systems. He holds a Masters in International Public Health and Health Management from UNSW. He now calls Bowral home.

He has special interests in aged care, men’s health, skin cancer medicine and child health. He has a Diploma in Child Health and a Professional and Advanced Certificate in Skin Cancer Medicine.

Further, Ono is heavily involved with the local hospitals as a Visiting Medical Officer. He also assists with caesarean sections and works in the Emergency Department at Bowral Hospital.

In his spare time, Ono enjoys playing soccer, improving his carpentry skills and taking road trips with his family.

dr jeff pinkstone

Dr Jeff Pinkstone

Dr Jeff Pinkstone co-founded Walker Street General Practice in January 1993 with Dr Ann Parker who has since retired. His wife, Deb, also played a pivotal role in the development of the practice, initially as the first practice nurse and then as practice manager.

Jeff moved to the Southern Highlands to commence general practice in 1987 after completing 5 years full time service as a medical officer in the RAAF. Jeff is an accredited RACGP GP Registrar Supervisor for doctors completing their specialist GP training at Walker Street General Practice. He is also Visiting Medical Officer at Southern Highlands Private Hospital. His interests include chronic disease management, aviation and occupational medicine and palliative care.

Outside of work, Jeff is an avid cyclist and gardener.

dr jessica hines

Dr Jessica Hines

Dr Jessica Hines graduated from the Australian National University Medical School. After finishing her hospital training in ACT and rural NSW, she is very happy to return home to the Southern Highlands to establish her General Practice career.  She is currently completing her Fellowship with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners, having already completed her Diploma of Child Health. Dr Hines has a broad interest in General Practice and is currently accepting new patients to the practice.

Dr Farhana Faria

Dr Farhana Faria obtained her medical degree from University of Dhaka in Bangladesh in 2009. She completed 3 years of postgraduate training in medicine in Bangladesh before migrating to Australia. Since 2014, she trained at several hospitals in NSW including Bankstown Hospital, Campbelltown Hospital, Royal North Shore and Ryde Hospitals. She subsequently completed a Diploma in Child Health through the University of Sydney. Additionally, she completed the Certificate in Sexual Health & Family Planning through Family Planning Alliance Australia. She is trained in insertion and removal of contraceptive implant (Implanon).

Farhana has strong interests in paediatrics, women’s health, aged care and mental health. Dr Faria also focuses on promoting lifestyle as medicine and preventative medicine.

Away from work, Farhana loves spending time with her family, enjoys bush walking, cycling and visiting new places in Australia. She wishes to work in Bowral for long term and looks forward to helping you and your families towards better health.

dr amanda hipwell

Dr Amanda Hipwell

Dr Amanda Hipwell is originally from rural Pennsylvania in the USA. Amanda first visited Australia in 2002 on a study abroad experience.  Before finishing her medical degree from the University of Queensland in 2011 she worked for several years in the USA pharmaceutical, biotech and research industries in Genetics/Biochemistry.

With her family, Amanda moved to the Southern Highlands in 2016 when she became a GP. Prior to this, she lived in Brisbane and worked in major teaching hospitals there, mainly in critical care medicine.

Amanda has two young children and loves the diversity and flexibility General Practice offers.  She has a FPAA National Certificate in Reproductive and Sexual Health from Family Planning NSW and she is completing her Diploma in Child Health from the University of Sydney.

Amanda is also a Bowral District Hospital antenatal shared care provider.

dr natasha hill

Dr Natasha Hill

Originally from Ireland, Dr Hill has recently made the long term move to the Southern Highlands with her husband and son. She completed her first degree in Natural Science from Trinity College Dublin, and in 2012 graduated with honours in her medical degree from University of Limerick, Ireland. Since then, Dr Hill has gained experience working in different health care systems in Ireland, UK, Perth and Sydney.

Natasha has a special interest in supporting Women’s Health, having previously worked for 5 years in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. She obtained the Diploma of Obstetrics and Gynaecology (DRANZCOG) and provides shared antenatal care for Bowral Hospital. She has completed the FPAA National Certificate in Sexual and Reproductive health. Her interest and experience in women’s health includes performing minor procedures such as contraceptive implant insertion and removal and intrauterine contraceptive devices.

When not working, Natasha enjoys all sports especially running, competitive show jumping and spending time with her family.
