The doctors at Walker St General Practice each provide services on a mixed billing basis, meaning fees vary depending on your doctor and the nature of your visit.
Our standard consultations are 20 minutes, longer than most, because we believe unhurried care leads to better outcomes.
Fees are set by your doctor and reflect the time spent with you and the complexity of your care.
If you have any questions about the fee guidelines, your doctor is always happy to help, or you’re welcome to speak with or email our Business Practice Manager directly at manager@wsgp.com.au.
Saturday & After-Hours Appointments
Full fees apply to all Saturday and weekday appointments before 9am or after 5pm, regardless of age or concession status. DVA Gold patients are exempt, and Medicare rebates still apply.
WorkCover & CTP Consultations
All WorkCover and CTP (Compulsory Third Party) consultations are billed in line with SIRA (State Insurance Regulatory Authority) guidelines.
- Approved Claims: If your claim has been approved and you can provide your claim number, insurer details, and approval paperwork, we will invoice your insurer directly. There is no out-of-pocket cost to you.
- New or Pending Claims: If your claim has not yet been approved, full payment is required on the day of your consultation. Once your claim is approved and paperwork is in order, we will then invoice your insurer directly for future appointments. If you have already paid, please speak to your Return to Work Coordinator about reimbursement options through your insurer.
Cancellation Policy
We require at least 4 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule. This allows us to offer your appointment to another patient who may be waiting. Cancellations without sufficient notice will incur a fee.
Bulk Billing
We bulk bill children under 10, DVA Gold cardholders, eligible care plans and health assessments.
Payment & Medicare Rebate
Payment is due at the time of your consultation. We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, cash, and cheque.
Where possible, we process your Medicare rebate on the spot, it typically goes straight into your Medicare-linked bank account within 24 hours.
