Order your repeat prescription or renew a referral
If you are an existing patient of Walker St General Practice, you can order a repeat prescription or renew a referral online, provided you:
- have seen your Walker St General Practice doctor in‑practice in the last 6 months for this condition, and
- are requesting a renewal of an existing script or referral (no new medications, dose changes or new referrals).
Important medication restrictions
- No opioids, strong pain medications or sleeping tablets can be requested through this service.(Includes medications such as opiates and benzodiazepines.)
- We cannot provide repeats for addictive or restricted medications via this method.
Fees and turnaround times
- Standard (non‑urgent) request – $30: processed by your regular doctor within 3 business days.
- Urgent request – $79: guaranteed same‑day turnaround if submitted before 3pm. If your usual doctor is unavailable, another Walker St GP will review your request that day.
- You will only be charged once the script or referral has been issued (private fee, no Medicare rebate applies).
How the service works
- Your GP will review your request and may decline it if an appointment is needed to safely manage your care. If your request is declined, you will be refunded and invited to book an appointment.
- If you have not heard from us within the expected timeframe for your chosen option (same day for urgent; 3 business days for non‑urgent), please phone the practice to ensure your request was received.
- Once your request has been completed you will be notified via SMS, and you can choose how you would like to receive your script or referral (eScript to your phone or email, fax to pharmacy/specialist, or pick‑up from the practice)
